Reviews plugin WordPress sites use to show reviews from every source
WordPress makes it easy to add a reviews plugin and hard to keep reviews current. Most plugins show one source and need manual updates. The TestimonialScraper reviews plugin for WordPress pulls in reviews from 12+ sources, keeps them fresh on their own and puts them on any page with a shortcode or a block, without touching your theme files.
What the plugin adds to your site
- A block for the block editor with a live preview of your widget
- A shortcode for classic editor, page builders and widget areas
- Every widget and wall from your workspace, chosen from a list
- Reviews served from a cache, so your database stays clean and pages stay fast
- Source logo and link on every review
The plugin is a thin connector. Reviews are collected, cleaned and scored in your TestimonialScraper workspace, and the plugin only displays what you approved there.
Install and embed in four steps
Download the plugin
In your workspace open Publish, then WordPress, and download the plugin file. Upload it in WordPress under Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, then activate it.
Connect your workspace
Paste the site key from your workspace into the plugin settings. The key only allows reading your approved widgets, nothing else.
Add a block or a shortcode
In the block editor search for TestimonialScraper and pick a widget from the list. In other editors paste the shortcode shown next to each widget, for example on a pricing page, a landing page or a sidebar.
Let it refresh
New reviews you approve appear on the site on your plan schedule, with no plugin update and no cache clearing on your side.
Shortcode or block
| Option | Best for | How you pick the widget |
|---|---|---|
| Block | Block editor pages and posts | Choose from a list with a live preview |
| Shortcode | Classic editor, page builders, widget areas | Paste the shortcode with the widget ID |
| HTML embed | Any WordPress setup, every plan | Paste the embed code in a Custom HTML block |
The plugin with shortcode and block is included from Growth up. On Brand you still publish to WordPress with the HTML embed code in a Custom HTML block.
Built for WordPress marketers and agencies
In-house marketers get reviews on every landing page without asking a developer. Agencies install the plugin on client sites and manage every client's reviews from one workspace. If you want a full page of praise rather than a review strip, the wordpress testimonial plugin page shows how to build a testimonial wall in WordPress. To learn which sources can go into the widget, see the review widget page, and for Google specifically the google reviews widget page.
What the plugin never does
The plugin does not collect reviews from your WordPress site, does not store visitor data and does not change your theme. It does not need administrator access to your workspace either, because the site key can only read widgets you approved. If you remove the plugin, the shortcodes simply stop rendering and your pages stay intact, so trying it carries no risk to your site. Agencies can hand over a client site without sharing their workspace login, because each site has its own key. Updating WordPress, switching themes or moving to a new host does not affect the widgets, since the reviews themselves never live in your WordPress database.
WordPress questions
Does the plugin slow down WordPress?
No. Reviews load after your content from a cache, and the plugin adds no database tables for reviews. Your page speed stays the same.
Does it work with page builders?
Yes. Use the shortcode in any builder that accepts shortcodes, or the HTML embed code in a code or HTML element.
Will it work with caching plugins?
Yes. The widget loads its reviews separately, so full page caching does not freeze old reviews on the page.
Can I use it on a multisite network?
Yes. Activate it per site and connect each site to its brand in your workspace.
Which plan includes the plugin?
Growth, Agency and White Label include the WordPress plugin with shortcode and block. Brand publishes with the HTML embed code.
