Testimonial software FAQ

Sources and legal use
Where do the testimonials come from?
From public reviews about your brand on Google, G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, the App Store, Google Play, Reddit, X, LinkedIn and YouTube, plus imports you own such as testimonial forms, NPS exports and support ticket exports. See the full list on the review aggregator page.
How do you collect public reviews?
Through official APIs, public feeds, public pages that allow automated reading, and exports you are entitled to. When a page does not allow automated reading, we ask you to paste the reviews or upload an export instead.
Is it legal to use online reviews as testimonials?
Showing real public reviews with the author as published and a link to the source is a common and accepted practice. You stay responsible for how you present them, so we keep every quote traceable and never change its meaning. Our guide on using online reviews as testimonials explains the FTC rules in plain language.
Do you rewrite or improve reviews?
No. Quotes keep the exact words of the reviewer. If you allow trimming, we only shorten long reviews and every cut is marked with an ellipsis.
Can you pull Google reviews?
Yes, from official place data. That data exposes a limited set of recent reviews, so we add them to your register on every refresh and keep the ones you already approved. Details are on the Google reviews widget page.
Do you write or generate reviews?
Never. TestimonialScraper only works with reviews real customers published or sent you. We do not create, buy or edit reviews.
How it works
How are quotes scored?
Each quote gets a strength score from 0 to 100 based on how specific, clear and relevant it is, for example whether it mentions a result, a time saved or a reason for choosing you. You can sort, filter and override the order at any time.
What are use case and persona tags?
Use case tags describe the job a quote does on a page, such as proof of results, ease of setup, quality of support, value for money or switching from another tool. Persona tags show who is speaking: founder, marketing, sales, engineering, support or ecommerce buyer.
How do you remove duplicates?
We match the same review posted on several sites, the same author repeating a quote and near identical text, then keep one entry with every source link attached.
How fresh are the quotes?
Brand refreshes weekly, Growth and Agency daily, White Label every 6 hours. Agency and White Label also send alerts when a new review appears, which is how our review monitoring software works.
Do new reviews go live automatically?
Only if you choose so. By default new quotes land as New and wait for your approval. You can also set a rule such as publishing every quote above a chosen score.
Widgets and walls
Where can I publish quotes?
Anywhere you can paste an embed code, plus direct exports to Webflow and WordPress. Choose a testimonial widget for a single section or a testimonial wall for a full page of praise.
Will the widget slow down my site?
No. It loads after your page content, weighs a few kilobytes and serves quotes from a cache.
Can I match the widget to my brand?
Yes. Set fonts, colors, corner radius, layout and which fields to show, such as rating, author role or source logo.
Can I remove a quote?
Yes. Hide a quote with one click and it disappears from every widget and wall on the next refresh. If a reviewer asks you to remove their quote, hide it the same way.
Plans and billing
Is there a trial?
The homepage demo shows your strongest quotes from one public review page with no card. Every plan is a paid subscription, monthly or yearly.
What does each plan cost?
Brand costs $49 per month or $24 per month billed yearly. Growth costs $149 or $74, Agency $299 or $149, and White Label $599 or $299. The full comparison is on the pricing page.
What counts as a review analyzed?
A review counts the first time we read, deduplicate and score it in a billing period. Usage resets each period, and deleting a widget or brand never gives quota back.
Do agencies get separate workspaces per client?
Yes. Agency covers 15 client brands and White Label covers 50, each with its own sources, widgets and monthly report. Read more on the agencies page.
Can I get a refund?
Payments are final. We refund only a double charge, a charge you did not authorize or a complete outage of the service. See the refund policy.
How do I cancel?
From your account settings, at any time. Your plan stays active to the end of the paid period and does not renew.
Account and data
What happens after I sign up?
You confirm your email with a 6 digit code, your shortlist is saved to your account and we email you the next steps for your workspace.
What data do you store?
The quotes, the author as published, the source link and your settings. We do not collect private messages or anything behind a login you have not shared with us. The security page has the details.
How do I contact you?
Write to [email protected]. Logged in customers can also use the help panel inside the app.
