Google reviews widget built on official place data
Google reviews are often the first proof a local business or a service brand has. TestimonialScraper shows them in a Google reviews widget that uses Google's official place data, keeps the author and the link to every review, and tells you plainly what that data can and cannot do. Then it lets you add other sources, so the widget never runs dry.
How Google reviews get into the widget
You paste your Google Maps link or search for your business name. We match it to your official place record and read the reviews that the official data makes available, with the reviewer name as Google shows it, the star rating, the date and a link back to the review on Google.
- Official place data only, no scraping of Google pages
- Author name, rating, date and link kept for every review
- Google attribution shown in the widget as required
- Widget in your colors, loaded after your page content
What the official data allows
Google's official place data does not hand over every review a business has ever received. It exposes a small set of recent or relevant reviews for each place at a time, and it sets rules for how they are displayed and how long they may be stored. We follow those rules, which means a few things for your widget.
| Topic | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Number of reviews | A small recent set per place, not your full history |
| Which reviews | The set Google chooses to return, which changes over time |
| Freshness | Updated on your plan schedule, weekly to every 6 hours |
| Attribution | Google branding and the link to each review stay visible |
| Editing | Not possible, reviews appear exactly as published |
If you need more depth than that, combine Google with the sources where your customers write longer reviews. The full story on why we never scrape Google pages is on the google reviews scraper page.
Set up your Google reviews widget
Find your place
Paste your Google Maps link or search by business name and city, then confirm the right location.
Add more sources
Add Trustpilot, G2, Capterra, the App Store or Google Play, plus your own imports, so the widget has enough strong quotes to rotate.
Pick a style
Choose a carousel, grid, single quote, badge or floating proof, as compared on the testimonial widget page.
Embed it
Copy one embed code, or use the WordPress block or the Webflow export. Multi location brands add one widget per location.
When a Google reviews widget is the right choice
Local services, clinics, agencies, shops and hospitality brands collect most of their reviews on Google, so a Google first widget fits them well. Software companies usually have deeper reviews on G2 and Capterra and treat Google as one source among several, which is what a review widget that mixes sources does. Agencies managing many local clients can add a place per client brand in one workspace.
A note on fair display
Visitors trust a Google widget more when it feels complete. Keep the link to your full Google profile visible, avoid hiding every review below five stars and refresh often enough that dates look recent. The widget does the first and the third for you, the second is your call.
Google reviews widget questions
Why does my widget not show all my Google reviews?
Google's official place data returns a limited set of reviews per place at a time. We show what it returns and refresh it on your plan schedule. For a fuller picture, add other sources next to Google.
Can I hide a Google review I do not like?
You can choose which returned reviews appear and filter by minimum rating. Displaying only five star reviews can mislead visitors, so many brands show a minimum of four stars with the overall Google link visible.
Is the star rating shown?
Yes. Each review shows its star rating as published, and the widget links to your place on Google so visitors can see everything there.
Do I need a Google account to connect?
No. Public place data is enough to show your reviews. You only need your business link or name.
Which plan includes Google reviews?
Every plan. On Brand, Google is one of your 4 sources. Growth and higher include all 12+ sources.
