TestimonialScraper

Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data the testimonialscraper.com service processes, why, for how long and what rights you have. Last updated October 19, 2026.

Who is responsible for your data

The administrator of your personal data is the administrator of the testimonialscraper.com service. You can reach the administrator at [email protected] about anything in this policy.

What data we process

  • Account data. Your email address, a hash of your password, the confirmation code we send and the date you confirmed your address.
  • Usage data. The brands, sources, widgets and settings you create, and a log of sign ins and actions in your account.
  • Billing data. Your plan, billing period and payment status. Card details are handled by our payment operator and never reach our servers.
  • Demo information. The address you paste into the homepage demo, the reviews we find on that page and your IP address, kept to limit demo use and show your result page.
  • Technical data. IP address, browser type and pages visited, kept in server logs for security.
  • Review data. Public reviews about the brands our customers manage, including the author name, role and company as the author published them, the review text and a link to the original.

Why we process it

  • To create and run your account, including confirming your email address.
  • To provide the service you pay for: collecting public reviews, scoring quotes and publishing widgets.
  • To bill you and keep the records the law requires.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse of the demo and the forms.
  • To answer your messages sent to [email protected].
  • To send you emails about your account, your workspace and changes to the service.

We process this data because it is needed to perform our contract with you, because the law requires it for billing records, and because we have a legitimate interest in security and in running the service. Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it first.

If you wrote a review that appears in a widget

Our customers use TestimonialScraper to display public reviews about their own brands. We only process reviews that were published publicly or that a customer is entitled to import, and we keep the author details exactly as they were published, together with a link to the original. We do not combine this data with other information about you and we do not use it for advertising.

If you want a quote removed or have a question about it, write to [email protected] with a link to the page where you saw it. We hide the quote in the customer's account and let the customer know. You can also object to the processing of your review data at any time.

Who receives the data

We share data only with providers that help us run the service, under contracts that oblige them to protect it:

  • a hosting provider that stores the service and its database,
  • a payment operator that processes subscription payments,
  • an email delivery provider that sends account and service emails,
  • a provider of language models used to score and tag quotes, which receives review text but not your account details.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers. We disclose data to public authorities only when the law requires it.

Transfers outside your country

Some providers may process data outside the country where you live. When that happens, we rely on safeguards the law recognizes, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

  • Account and usage data while your account is active and for 30 days after you close it.
  • Billing records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Demo results for 7 days.
  • Server logs for up to 90 days.
  • Review data until the customer removes the brand or source, or until the author asks us to hide it.

Cookies

We use only cookies that the service needs to work: a session cookie, a security token that protects forms, and a cookie that remembers your interface preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third party tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Our visit statistics are counted on the server without cookies.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, a copy of it, its correction or deletion, a restriction of processing, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. If you are in the United States, you may also have rights under your state privacy law, including the right to know and the right to delete. To use any of these rights, write to [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

How we protect data

Connections to the service are encrypted, passwords are stored as hashes, and access to customer data is limited to people who need it to run the service. Read more on the security page.
